1. In this video, Jack Abramoff can take the initiative to admit his mistakes, and also, he let other people think that he was polite. In addition, the person in the video also told that Abramoff is a strategic man, and he knew how to do after he made this kind of mistake. What’s more, Abramoff was the most influential lobbyist in Washington, D.C., so the characteristic of him has already been shown to others long times ago. He saw himself as an ethical man, and he fought hard on behalf of his clients. In retrospect, he can see where he went wrong and appeared. Sometimes some of us will think that we are more ethical than others. However, when facing different kinds of cases, we will have different reactions, and sometimes we will make the mistakes. As a result, I don’t think there will be a more ethical person than others in the world.
2. Jack Abramoff is a serious and shocking white-collar crime. Jack Abramoff saw his behaviors being normal and good. He did not see those behaviors as illegal or illegitimate. He had a set of values for his work and another set for his personal life. He saw himself presenting for the best interest of his clients and he used the money to bribe people, which manner in his mind was just to pay for people’s contributions. In this way, he was “helpfulâ€. One problem is that he had always been excellent, successful, and competitive. People may not say anything wrong about him and to him. Thus, he gradually became much more arrogant and got far away from the right place. In my opinion, most people will see themselves as being more ethical than others. On one hand, people barely get information objectively. We are raised with the idea of “trusting yourself and believing yourselfâ€. We are encouraged to compete with people and speak out for ourselves. When we are fighting for the interest, we should also be nice. Be a good man/woman because we know we should fight for rights in a RIGHT means.
