Description

The Equal Pay Act was passed in 1963. This was one year before the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was enacted.

The purpose of the Equal Pay Act was to ensure men and women doing equal work receive the same pay. However, even though multiple decades have passed since the Act was passed the gender pay gap remains a topic of discussion and possible litigation.

Also included on this week’s Canvas page are several articles/commentaries about the topic of gender pay equity. Be sure to review these readings before submitting your paper.
