Fake news is highly contagious when people believe what is posted and believe
everything they see on social media. The way fake news has affected the 2020
Presidential Election is how everything is shared through social media through
millions of people. More than one-quarter of voting-age adults visited a fake news
website supporting either Clinton or Trump in the final weeks of the 2016
campaign, according to estimates from Guess and his co-authors. (D.
Kurtzleben, 2018) Social media is flooded by fake articles that rigged the election
on both parties; I believe it causes fear in first-time voters, questioning if their
vote will count towards the election polls. I believe some of the stuff shared
through social media, and the articles look that they come from credible articles.

Topic 1 Question 2:
Twitter has introduced a new label for tweets containing synthetic and
manipulated media that is not 100% true, which appears underneath a tweet. As
consumers, we should take more time to analyze the post if it came from a
trustworthy news network. Also, looking into other popular websites if the news is
found compare to each other. With the younger generation who tend not to
question articles posted in a social media network, I feel doing more research will
help them better in school and have a trustworthy news network.
