Submission Deadline: Last Day of Class (4/7/2021)
Motivations: i) Opportunity to earn extra points to improve grade; ii) Demonstrate in an
applied fashion material you learned; iii) Showcase ability to see the big picture that extends
beyond defined tasks such as an assignment; iv) A good first-hand experience at writing
papers (exceptional white papers can have a positive impact on your careers) and last but not
least v) A good example set for future students – a huge source of motivation for time
invested.
Even if you have a score you are happy with i.e. one earned via assignments and quizzes/tests,
(ii)-(v) should motivate you to consider attempting it.
If you do an exceptional job, you will be rewarded well. I will keep the terms of engagement a
bit vague as this is a pure critical thinking exercise and I do not want to put an upper bound on
what that can earn you and that stifle creativity.
Most Important: Please make sure it is entirely original work, data and analysis performed
should be verifiable including sources. Any evidence that indicates otherwise will constitute
automatic disqualification.
Last but not least, an excellent reading resource for this project and this course, in general, is
the recommended text I mention in the syllabus. Also, Chapter 4 in our text is meant to help
with the project. It among other things will help you understand the true potential of too ls we
cover in this course, help you reflect better on how you can use them to improve your
personal and professional lives, make connections between real-world stories indicated there
with your firm and identify areas of improvement.
Sincerely,
Jomon A. Paul
