Use proper documentation and bibliography techniques

(minimum of four different references; only one of these from the Internet).

The American Psychological Association (APA) guidelines must be used. Attach a copy of any source less than three pages. (Note: Internet sources are informational references other than references you found by searching the Internet.)

Topic assignments for the paper will be chosen during the second week of class. The instructor can assist you in choosing and narrowing your topic. Once assignments have been made, it is your responsibility to manage the research and document production. However, the instructor is always available to answer questions. The paper must have a title. The relevant legal aspects of the topic must be addressed in the paper. Legal aspects encompass casebooks, statutes, agency rules, court cases, legal articles, legal treatises, etc.

Your opinion/assessment of the issues in the paper must be expressed

The research paper will be graded upon the whole body of work

Please proofread and check your paper for proper grammar.

You are expected to write primarily in your own voice, using paraphrase, summary, and synthesis techniques when integrating information from class and outside sources. Use an author’s exact words only when the language is especially vivid, unique, or needed for technical accuracy. Failure to do so may result in charges of Academic Dishonesty.

Overusing an author’s exact words, such as including block quotations to meet word counts, may lead your readers to conclude that you lack appropriate comprehension of the subject matter or that you are neither an original thinker nor a skillful writer.
