Two features of globalization that are most important include environment and technology are two features of globalization that are important influences of health. Technology is key in improving communication, the fluidity of health literacy and even improvements in health care and caring/improving the environment. “A major challenge for public health in the twenty-first century is to respond to the changing dynamics of capitalist economies and the attendant impacts on people’s daily living conditions, and ultimately health equity” (Baum, et al. 2016). Technology is one of the best ways for the adaption to the changes that come with globalization and finding creative solutions that the health issues and the health risks that are greatly affecting the population. Environment is key in the health of people, taking care of the environment and ensuring that the population is able to choose to live healthy lives with the environment supporting is the best way to achieve health and health equity.

Health issues due to climate change, were less of a global threat in the past before the increase of globalization. Although health issues like cardiovascular diseases were always an issue and were a health issue that has steadily been claiming hundreds of lives, with the increase of contributing factors, like air pollution, contamination of water and food sources, and the reduction of healthy food production due to globalization health issues like respiratory issues, heart disease and obesity are health issues that are major problems. Changes in globalization have cause more pollution and use of finite and natural resources. This is in turn causes people to be more prone to illness from air pollution, contaminated waters, and the lack of nutritious and health foods. Globalization is a good thing that has created functioning societies and has advanced communities, but with that many aspects of natural have suffered.

Other countries may keep health insurance rates and costs low so people can seek medical attention when it is needed. This is key in creating good access to care, with the increase of globalization and people becoming more ill due to environmental exposures. In some countries “payment comes from a government-run insurance program that all citizens fund through a premium or tax. These universal insurance programs tend to be less expensive and have lower administrative costs than American-style for-profit insurance plans” (North American Primary Care Research Group, 2013). Keeping health care insurance and costs low is beneficial for those in the low- and middle-income levels because it keeps health care access open for everybody and bring health equity especially to those who may not be able to afford the help they need when it comes to different health issues.
