ZOOM PRESENTATION DIRECTIONS
Introduction: Students will select one current health issue to create a brief voiceover presentation
using presentation software such as Powerpoint (5 minutes). Students will be graded on their ability
to synthesize and prepare an effective presentation using CSUN’s free Zoom software.
Presentation Requirements: At a minimum, presentations should include the following content:
Overview of the public health issue (overview of your presentation, explain why the issue is a
public health issue, introduction of key terms)
Severity of the health problem (current facts and statistics, trends over time,
populations/locations most affected or at risk)
• Your recommendations (suggestions for addressing the problem, describe interventions or
strategies that the group recommends-refer lectures, group discussion/activity)

to record a voiceover Powerpoint via Zoom, see the resource document under the corresponding link
in Canvas
Note: You are presenting on the facts, not your own opinion. If this is a topic in which both sides are
strongly represented in the media, each side must be presented equally and without bias.
• Each student will provide a short presentation using Zoom software
You will first create your Powerpoint presentation based on your chosen topic. You may NOT use
the topic you selected for your Current Event assignment. You can get ideas for topics from your
textbook as well as go to the Healthy People 2020 website https://hcalth.gov/healthypcople
• Your recorded Zoom presentation should be strictly limited to no more than 5 minutes. Using
Zoom features such as Share Screen allows the Presentation to be seen while the presenter
(yourself) speaks over each slide.
• Your presentation is worth 100 points.
You will submit a link to your recorded Zoom presentation under the corresponding link in Canvas
which is located in the Week 16 module. Please see the document, Creating a video of a Narrated
