I’m working on a women’s studies discussion question and need an explanation and answer to help me learn.

Hello there! I hope you’re well!

I’ve been referred to you by a friend of mine in Women Studies! She said you did an amazing job and with in time! I

Attached are discussions that are worth 30% of the total grade and would like your help in them! They may seem similar to the questions in the writing assignment (the one you did for my friend) but they’re different. I’ve also included the grading criteria for us to get a perfect score on those discussions! Please let me know if you have any questions. Word count doesn’t matter as long as we are answering the questions fully and not with a shortcut per se. However, If I had to say it would be no less than 100 words for each discussion. Each discussion is worth 20 points!

Module 1 :
Answer the following in your post:
• The videos in this module reference several misconceptions of feminism
and how these are perpetuated. Briefly discuss a misconception of
feminism that you have held or that you have encountered, either in
interactions with others or in popular media.
• Bring up at least one question for us to discuss in relation to this topic.
Module 2:
Module 3 :
Answer the following in your post:
• Although some, in popular discourse, have begun to argue that the U.S.
is “post-feminist,” the authors in this module maintain that feminism
remains as relevant and necessary as ever.
o Identify (either quote or summarize) a specific argument for the
importance of feminism made by at least one of the
authors/speakers from this module.
o Find and link a relatively current image/video or page (or
comment section) that exemplifies their claim.
o Briefly discuss the correlation you are making.
o Bring up at least one question for us to discuss in relation to this
topic.
Module 4 :
Answer the following in your post:
• Jamaica Kincaid’s “Girl” presents a vivid picture of how gender is
socially constructed within a specific context. The text provides an
example of the rigid rules imposed upon young women as well as the
consequences of not conforming to those expectations.
o How does this description compare to how gender is constructed
in your own family and community? For example, in some
contexts, girls and women are expected to adhere to a set of rules
that result in them being viewed as “ladies” or “ladylike,” and if
they don’t adhere to them, there are social consequences.
o Explore how Kincaid’s “Girl” illustrates the ideas presented in “It’s
Your Gender, Stupid!” and “Your Life as a Girl.”
o Bring up at least one question for us to discuss in relation to this
topic.
Module 5 :
Answer the following in your post:
• Is identity politics effective? Why or why not?
• Bring up at least one question for us to discuss in relation to this topic.
Module 6 :
Answer the following in your post:
• Discuss the ways in which clothing and physical presentation are
gendered and socially controlled.
• Explain how the intersections of gender presentation, race, class, ability,
size, and age is framed by the dominant notions of beauty and
desirability.
• Provide an image (or a link to an image) that exemplifies your points.
• Bring up at least one question for us to discuss in relation to this topic.
Module 7 :
Part 1:
Consider the following questions:
• What issues are important to this celebrity?
• Who is the audience for their posts?
• How does this celebrity perform gender in these posts?

relationships.
o Optional: Write about your experience with sex education – was it
offered in some form at your school? If so, how was it structured
and was it helpful?
• Bring up at least one question for us to discuss in relation to this topic.
Module 9 :
Answer the following in your post:
• Discuss 2-3 common beliefs about masculinity that are challenged by
the materials in this module.
• Bring up at least one question for us to discuss in relation to this topic.
Module 10 :
• In recent years, Planned Parenthood has decided to shift away from the
labels of “pro-choice” and “pro-life” with regard to pregnancy and
abortion because approaching these issues in such polarizing, political
terms is not very helpful to those who are actually making these kinds
of highly personal decisions.
o What is your perspective on this change?
• Discuss the apparent contradiction involved in legislative efforts that
seek to limit access to health care services that might prevent
unplanned pregnancies (e.g., Planned Parenthood or birth control
information and services) and to oppose sex education in schools
